Dr. Anu Ramaswami, professor at Princeton University, PI of the Urban Nexus Lab, and director of the Sustainable Healthy Cities Network, is the winner of the 2022 AAEES Science Award.
Dr. Ramaswami is recognized for her work in pioneering the development of environmental science and engineering models for sustainable, healthy, and equitable cities. Her "systems-of-systems approach" connects green infrastructure, water, waste management, energy use and generation, food systems, transportation, and human wellbeing, providing the conceptual and mathematical foundations, as well as policy engagement, necessary for our sustainable future.
The American Academy of Environmental Engineers and Scientists' Science Award celebrates an individual who is an outstanding performer in the management and implementation of environmental science programs and projects, also demonstrating exemplary professional conduct and distinguished qualities of personal leadership.
Dr. Ramaswami will be recognized at an awards ceremony on April 7, along with other AAEES honorees.
