Rishabh Chauhan is a Postdoctoral Research Associate at the Department of Civil and Environmental Engineering at Princeton University. His research interests include Transportation Planning, Causality, Machine Learning, Deep Learning, Statistical and Econometric Modeling, Remote Sensing Applications, and Autonomous Vehicles.
Some of the key focuses of Dr. Chauhan’s research have been (1) causal modeling of travel behavior, (2) studying the impact of COVID-19 pandemic on travel, (3) predicting short-term traffic delay using deep learning techniques, (4) evaluating the accessibility of rapid transit systems, and (5) testing autonomous vehicles. He has experience of working on numerous research projects funded by agencies such as the U.S. Department of Transportation (USDOT), the National Science Foundation (NSF), the Illinois Department of Transportation (IDOT), the New York State Department of Transportation (NYSDOT), and the New York State Energy Research and Development Authority (NYSERDA). His research has been published in highly reputed journals like Scientific Data and the Proceedings of the National Academy of Sciences (PNAS) and has been featured in top media outlets like The Washington Post and The Wall Street Journal.
He graduated with his Ph.D. in Civil Engineering from the University of Illinois Chicago (UIC) in 2023, Master of Science (M.S.) in Civil Engineering from the State University of New York at Buffalo (UB) in 2019, and Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering (B.E.) from the Technocrats Institute of Technology (TIT) in 2017.
